Reconstructed common ancestor of the Indo-European family. Dating is contested: Kurgan hypothesis places it ~4500–2500 BCE on the Pontic-Caspian steppe; the Anatolian hypothesis pushes it earlier (~7000 BCE) into Anatolia.
